Claire happens to be the female protagonist in the RE2 game. Her and Leon ended up meeting each other by chance in Raccoon City and had each other's back for a while. In the game though they decided to spilt up and go seperate ways, thinking it would be easier and quicker to find an exit that way. There isn't much going on between these two other then they have each other's support throughout the game. Along the way Claire ends up finding and bringing Sherry Birkin, a little girl thats daughter of two evil Umbrella researchers. When the three finally escape, Claire hands over Sherry to Leon's care so Claire can go off to Europe to find her brother Chris. Leon even becomes temporary guardian for Sherry Birkin. I wonder how Leon felt about that?
It seems Claire's story continues in the upcoming movie, Resident Evil: Degeneration. From the trailer we see Claire and Leon in an airport with zombies here and there. Perhaps Leon and Claire's relationship can grow some more during the film.
